The other driver has given you an insurer’s name and a claim number. You have done the right thing by keeping them. Now you need to know what to do with them.
Confirm the stage—not just the reference.
A claim number helps identify the file when contacting the insurer. Ask whether responsibility has been accepted, what documents are outstanding and whether any repairs or payments have actually been authorised. Do not treat the number alone as approval to incur costs. Contacting the other party’s insurer (external source, opens a new tab) ↗
No repairer yet? Tell us.
We can review the correspondence and help coordinate the next steps with a separately licensed repairer. Before any work starts, be clear about the quote, who is instructing the repairer, who is liable for payment and whether an inspection is needed. Endeavour handles recoveries; the repairer carries out the repairs.
Bring the whole conversation.
Send the insurer’s name and reference, the accident details, photographs and the messages you have already received when a live intake is available. This helps us avoid asking you to repeat a conversation from the beginning.
If another representative already acts for you, tell us before any appointment so responsibilities can be clarified. A change of representative should be organised, not assumed.
